Kilcommon Pilgrim Loop Walk -Sunday 4th August at 6pm
 Image
In support of the Kiltegan Missions.
Following  old mass paths and forest tracks the Pilgrim Loop travels along the lower slopes of the Mauherslieve nestled quietly beside the picturesque village of Kilcommon in the heart of Tipperarys’ Slieve Felim region. Walkers will take in the beautiful views of Kilcommon and the Bilboa river valley and  rest at the old mass rock sparing a thought for those who walked the hills in harder times, before the return leg to the village. The walk is part of the Go Walking Tipperary walks schedule for 2013, a series of organised walking events throughout the county and through the co-operation of South Tipperary Development Company and  North Tipperary Sports Partnership. Voluntary donations will go to support the work of local man and Kiltegan missionary, Fr Eddie Ryan. Fr Ryan has given many years working with the poor and building schools in Zambia and continues his work with special focus on the often neglected area of education for  girls in that country.
